Welcome to the German Visa Application Centre in Sri Lanka.

This site provides information on the procedure applicable to all residents in Sri Lanka and the Maldives who wish to apply for a Schengen Visa (short term visa - up to three months) to Germany, Austria, Estonia, Hungary, and/or Latvia.

Diplomats and immediate family members of German Nationals, EU, and EEA citizens may call the German Embassy directly in order to schedule an appointment.

Applicants for long stay (more than three months) and resident permit, such as adoption, au pair, family reunion, marriage, student, scientists, and other employment visa, may apply directly at the Embassy without prior appointment from Mondays -Thursdays 8.00 am to 10.00 am.

New Visa Application procedure for Applying for a German Visa in Colombo

From 01st September 2009, The VFS German Visa Application Centre located at 120/A, Havelock Road, (Opposite Police Park), Colombo 5, Srilanka, will accept visa applications from people who wish to travel to Germany. VFS will submit all such visa applications to the Embassy of Germany located in Colombo.

The VAC shall remain open Mondays to Fridays, except on Embassy Holidays

VFS shall accept applications for the following visa categories for Germany VAC in Colombo: -
